Classic Presnell.
Victorian Alistair Presnell birdied the final hole Sunday to beat Peter O’Malley by one stroke and win the Moonah Classic, the second stop on the 2009 Nationwide Tour schedule. 29 year old Presnell shot a final round 4-under 68 to finish at 9-under 279, one better than O’Malley, who was in group behind Presnell and missed a 15-footer birdie putt to tie. JD Sports Agency would like to Congratulate Alistair on his outstanding performance. |

Matt Griffin tied 21st at first Asian Tour event.
The year has started positively for Matt Griffin and his Asian Tour career finishing tied 21st at the recent Asian Tour International in Thailand. The opening event for many Asian Tour debutants, Matt played consistent for four days with rounds of 71,66,69 and 71 for a total of 7 under. Although still a little unfamiliar with the conditions and surroundings, Matt displayed he will be a force to look out for in season 2009. He will know head to Perth for the Johnnie Walker Classic starting February 19. |

Hickmott top 10 at Victorian PGA.
Luke Hickmott has finished in a tie for 10th at The Victorian PGA championship held at Sanctuary Lakes. After a stunning opening round of 11 under 61 which set a new course record, Luke was near the top of the leaderboard for most of the tournament in what was one of the best fields to ever assemble on The Von Nida tour. Having re dedicated himself at the start of 2009, Luke was happy with many aspects of his game this week and is looking forward to the year ahead. |

Victorian Open.
Season Greetings. Paul Donahoo, Luke Hickmott and Matt Griffin will be teeing it up at the prestigious Victorian Open at Spring Valley Golf Club next week. After a successful campaign at the Asian tour school last week where Matt finished 9th and secured his card for season 2009, Hickmott and Donahoo will be making their first starts for this year. The strongest field in a few years will tee it up and we hope that our guys can be there challenging late on Sunday. |

Griffin secures Card
Matt Griffin has secured his 2009 Asian Tour card for the first time. After an impressive 1st stage qualifying where Matt finished 2nd, Matt went into the final 5 round stage full of confidence. With a strong field and 40 cards on offer, Matt held his nerve and concentration to finish tied 9th and secure his card after his first attempt. Well done Matt and we wish him all the best. |

Asian Tour School.
With rounds of 72, 68, 73 and 72, Matt Griffin has advanced to the final stage of the Asian Tour next week. Finishing outright 2nd on -7, Matt was very happy with his game considering the windy conditions they had to deal with during the week. Well done Matt and all the best next week. |

Asian Tour School.
Matt Griffin has started his Asian Tour school campaign with a solid -1 71. With an early tee time, Matt was equal leader after the completion of the morning field. To qualify for his Asian Tour card for season 2009, Matt has to make the cut over four rounds this week and then prepare for the final stage over four rounds next week. |

20/11/08 US PGA Tour School underway.
Luke Hickmott has just completed his first round in stage 2 of US PGA Tour School secind stage in California. After a slow start on Luke's first nine he was able to get back a couple of shots on his inward nine eventually signing for a 2 over 74. With three rounds to go and approximately 25 players going through to final stage, Luke will be looking to post a low number tomorrow and move his way up the leaderboard. |

9/11/08 Donahoo advances to final stage in Japan.
Paul Donahoo has successfully advanced to the fourth and final stage of Japan Tour Qualifying School after four solid rounds in stage 3. Paul was able to post a 4 round total of 1 over 289 which ensured he finished well inside the cut off in 15th place. Paul will now focus on gaining his tour card for 2009 when final stage commences on December 4th. Paul will be in Melbourne for the Australian Masters the week before heading back to Japan. |

2/11/2008- Luke Hickmott advances to second stage.
Luke Hickmott has successfully advanced to stage 2 of US PGA Tour Qualifying school following a top 10 finish at stage 1 which concluded Sunday morning (AEST). Rounds of 72,66,71,69 saw Luke finish tied 10th out of the 86 starters at San Juan Oaks Country Club in California. With the top 25 to advance, Luke was inside the cut off by 2 strokes and will now prepare for second stage beginning November 19. |

2/11/08- Griffin runner-up in maiden Professional start.
A week after announcing his decision to turn professional, Matt Griffin has stormed home for a runner-up finish at the Western Australian PGA. Heading into the final round in fourth place and eight behind runaway leader, Michael Long, Matt jumped out of the gates with four consecutive birdies which resulted in an opening nine holes of 7 under. Two further birdies on the back nine together with a single bogey meant a final round and course record eight under 64. In accepting his runner-up cheque Matt made mention of his recent change to Professional status "A runner-up cheque for $10,000 certainly beats winning a sandwich maker". Matt will now head to the NSW PGA this week with a bundle of confidence. Fellow JD Sports Agency client, Paul Donahoo, finished four valuable competitive rounds before he heads to Japan for Qualifying School second stage next week. Paul finished in a tie for 46th. |

Griffin and Donahoo looking for big third rounds.
At the half way stage of the WA PGA at The Cut in Perth, both Matt Griffin and Paul Donahoo have good reason to look forward to the weekend's action. Griffin playing just his first event as a Professional will be eager to become one of a select few to win their maiden event as a pro following solid rounds of 70 and 71. With only 6 players under par, Griffin sits in a solo fourth only 4 shots off the lead. Had a few more putts fell Griffin may well have seen himself at the top of the leaderboard. "I have played great the last two days but just have not holed too much" said Matt at the conclusion off day 2. Donahoo on the other hand will find himself off early on Saturday morning after just making the cut but is determined to get in some more competitive rounds before his focus switches to Japan Tour School next week. |

Hickmott makes a big move on day 2.
A second round of 6 under par 66 has seen Luke Hickmott make a significant move up the leaderboard on day 2 of US PGA Tour Qualifying. Following a modest even par 72 on day one, Luke carded 6 birdies to move into a tie for 16th at the half way mark. The top 25 and ties advance to stage 2. |

Donahoo prepares for return to Japan at the WA PGA.
Paul Donahoo will this week play the Western Australian PGA at The Cut in Perth as he continues his preparation for Stage 2 of Japan Tour School. A strong field has again assembled for the Von Nida Tour event and Paul will certainly be a name to watch having won on this tour in 2007. Round one commences Thursday. Play well Paul. |

Hickmott ready to fire at US PGA Tour School.
After a solid year on the Canadian Tour, Luke Hickmott will travel to San Juan Oaks Golf Club looking to advance through stage 1 of US PGA Tour Qualifying School. Along with 86 other hopefuls, Luke will commence round one on Thursday with a dream of earning a PGA Tour Card for 2009. Luke has been happy with his form and preparation leading into this week and is looking forward to playing San Juan Oaks again after successfully advancing there last year. Good Luck Luke.

Carnage supreme.
The latest signing to JD Sports Agency, 3 Time Thai World Kicking boxing champion Nathan "Carnage" Corbett, had a 2nd round KO last night in Brisbane. Fighting after almost 5 months since his last, Corbett stunned his opponent Sakda Dankao from Thailand and electrified the sell out crowd with his trade mark elbow to the head that sent his Thai opponent crashing to the canvas. With an elbow to the head in the first round that left Dankao jelly legged, The Carnage then finished off the fight with a stunning blow to the in the 2nd. Well done Nathan, the team at JD Sports had a great night. |

An exceptional round of 6 under par 65 at Beerwah Golf Club has seen Paul take out the 2008 Reed Property Group Beerwah Pro-Am. In a particularly strong field Paul was crowned champion recording the lowest round of the day by 2 shots. Paul was pleased with today's round as he continues to prepare for Japan Tour School in early September. |

Perren and Nye start the new season in fine form.
Clinton Perren and Aaron Nye have signalled the start of the new season with outstanding performances at the recent trial matches staged in North Queensland. In a series of matches against the New Zealand Emerging team played at Cairns, both players were significant contributors with the highlights being 82 runs of 37 balls for Perren and in the same match an impressive all round performance of 25 runs followed by 3 wickets in 3 overs for Nye. These efforts signal a big season ahead for both Perren and Nye after a long greuling off season. |

Weatherall and Donahoo part of a strong field at Capricorn.
One of the biggest Pro-Ams staged in Australia will again take place this week at Rydges Capricorn Resort in North Queensland. The Rydges Capricorn Classic as always has attracted another strong field including JD Sports Agency clients, Darren Weatherall and Paul Donahoo. Both have been in good recent form and are keen to get amongst the action and climb the leaderboard. Good Luck to both. |

Luke excited to be involved in team competition.
Luke Hickmott will this week become a member of the International Team chosen to take on an American team and Canadian team in the inaugral Canadian Tour International team matches. Luke was chosen along side three fellow Australian's in a seven man team which start Tuesday at Scarborough Country Club in Ontario. Luke is refreshed and ready to go after a relaxing week off last week which included some time as a spectator at the PGA Tour event in Canada. |

Griffin wins in America.
Australia's best amateur golfer, Matthew Griffin, has broken through for his maiden victory on American soil at the Rice Planters Championship in South Carolina. Rounds of 67, 65, 70, and 69 saw Matt equal the tournament record at 17 under handing him the trophy by one shot from fast finishing American, Mike Stern. Having been the benchmark of Australian amateur golf over the past 12 months it was a great achievement for Matt to win such a prestigious United States amateur event. Matt will now head to the Players Championship next week full of confidence. |
